Saxophonist Watanabe is one of the most important figures in the Japanese jazz scene and has just released his 61st record, 'Sadao 2000', which he recorded with Richard Bona. This time he has chosen to pump up his renowned spectacular performances by supplementing his usual sextet with the five-piece Angolon percussion group N'goma Makamba, who energetically employ Afro-Latin, Arabic and Far Eastern rhythms.
